Bottle Opener Steel Troth Ring church key with runes

Bottle Opener Steel Troth Ring church key with runes

This ring is made from a steel band hand made and cut with runes of the elder futhark. The runes form an oath or a Troth. This one reads "STRENGTH and HONOR" . When I look at it everyday it reminds me to be strong and true to myself. Also, it makes a dandy Church Key bottle opener. Watch the video
Bottle Opener Steel Troth Ring church key with runesMore Details

The runes are a major element in Heathenry and Asatru in particular, often used to indicate ancestry, in crafts and for ritual purposes. An oath (from Old Saxon eoth) is either a promise or a statement of fact calling upon something or someone that the oath maker considers sacred, usually a god, as a witness to the binding nature of the promise or the truth of the statement of fact. To swear is to take an oath.

Now, I have tried many types of rings from gold to silver and none last up to working in the shop. They all bend or contort or break. One of the best things about this ring is that under normal use, it will not lose its shape.

We now have the ability to make three sizes, large, average and small. Large measure 1 1/8 " in diameter; average measure 7/8" in diameter; small measures 3/4 " in diameter.

To measure for your size ring, wrap your ring finger with a piece of string and measure the string from start to end point. The string should read 2 1/4 inches for the small; 2 1/2" for the average; and 3 1/4 inches for the large.

Please let me know at the end of the sale which size you need!

Hand Forged Irminsul Odin Asatru Thor Heathen Frigga

Hand Forged Irminsul Odin Asatru Thor Heathen Frigga

This is a hand forged Irminsul (Yggdrasil) suitable for your alter and or in ritual. It is hand forged of steel in our smithy, the White Hart Forge. As they are hand forged the size can range between 7 to 9 inches tall, 1/2 inch thick and the arms spread to about 5 to 6 inches. The Old Norse form of Irmin is Jörmunr, which just like Yggr was one of the names of Odin. Yggdrasil ("Yggr's horse") was the yew or ash tree from which Odin sacrificed himself, and which connected heaven and earth. In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil (Old Norse Yggdrasill, IPA: [?y??drasil?]; the extra -l is a nominative case marker) is the World Tree, a great ash tree located at the center of the universe and joining the nine worlds of Norse cosmology. The trunk of the tree may be thought of as forming a vertical axis around which these worlds are situated, with Ásgard, realm of the gods, at the top and the Hel, located in Niflheim, at the bottom. Midgard, our world that is inhabited by humans, is located in the middle and surrounded by Jötunheim, land of Jötunn, both of which are separated by the ocean.

Mjolnir Thor\'s Hammer Thor with Troth Ring

Mjolnir Thor's Hammer Thor with Troth Ring

This hammer weighs approximately 13 pounds. The head is slit and drifted open in the traditional manner of the ancient smiths to form the eye for the handle. Both faces are then upset to provide a work surface and a shape reminiscent of the traditional northern European style hammers.
Mjolnir Thor\More Details

The handle will be made, traditionally, from oak, but if I'm out of that I may have some yew wood or maple. After the forging process the hammer is cleaned of scale and faced. Then under a black heat a linseed oil and bee's wax treatment is added for protection againts rust and to create a fine patina.

This is truly Mjolnir, hammer of Thor!!! If you are looking for a hammer for your ceremonies, for bl'o't, or just to place on the alter then here you have a mighty one.

This piece is hand forged in our Smithy using the same techniques as the old Norse Blacksmiths. I have made this style of large hammer in the past for ceremonial purposes and alter use. There is only one other like this. I am now in the process of making a second based on this original. It will include runes cut into the side similar to the ones shown but at your descretion. It will also include a similar handle and troth ring. However, because these are made one at a time and hand forged there will never be two alike.

Thor\'s Hammer Flint and Steel Pendant

Thor's Hammer Flint and Steel Pendant

This is a beautiful reproduction of a hammer amulet found throughout Pre-Christian Scandinavia and Northern Europe. Each piece is hand forged in our Smithy using the same techniques as the old Norse Blacksmiths. This hammer was made from high carbon steel from an American made file and will throw sparks off its edge when struck hard and swift with a piece of flint. It also includes a troth ring to mount to a lanyard or necklace or a leather thong. This is a one of a kind Thor's hammer. Pretty Cool! I think it's safe to say there is no other like it! Please check out the photos!!!
Thor\More Details

Ancient symbol of the Norse god Thor. Thor, the strongest and most popular of the god's may have afforded protection to those wearing amulets in the form of the hammer. His famous battle hammer, Mjollnir, was a powerful weapon in the fight of the gods against the powers of evil.

I have one myself and use it to start our ceremonies like Mid Winter Nacht, Beltane and Samhaine. Imagine your friend's looks when they watch start a fire the old way.
In the book of Scandinavian Mythology by H.R. Ellis Davidson, can be found a photo of a small Thor's Hammer and ring found in Labby, Uppland, Sweden. According to Ellis Davidson, the cult of Thor was linked up with men's habitations and possessions, and with the well being of the family and the community. This included the fruitfulness of the fields, and Thor, although pictured primarily as a storm god in the myths, was also concerned with fertility and with the preservation of the seasonal round. Little stone axes and hammers used as fertility symbols were placed by the farmer in the holes made by the drill to receive the first seed of spring. Here we see Thor's marriage to Sif of the golden hair as the ancient symbol of divine marriage between the sky god and the earth goddess, when he comes to the earth as a thunderstorm bringing the rains and making the field fertile.

size = 3" tall by 2" wide by 1/4"thick. Although, as all are made by hand there will undoubtedly be variations.

For this sale I will throw in a piece of good flint, char cloth and a yard of jute for tinder so you can begin your ceremonial fires the traditional way. Written instructions are included, as well as a "How To" demo video on our vide section of the web site..
