Emergency Survival Flint and Steel Fire Striker and Tinderbox
This is a hand made fire steel and tinder box. The shape of the steel is a traditional European "C" style. It measures about 2 3/4" x 2".
The tinder box comes complete with a supply of jute, char cloth, steel and a piece of flint from Western Idaho all in an easy to carry tin box.
I hand forge these steels from old files and temper them myself at my blacksmith shop. Each one will throw thousands of sparks. I also make my own char cloth from cotton and linen scraps. These will catch a spark and ignite tinder faster than anything I've ever tried.
This is the perfect tinder kit for travel, historical re-encators or to keep with your emergency supplies. Amaze your friends as you start the next ceremonial fire with one of these.
In the case of an emergency you'll never be without the ability to make a fire again. All of my kits come complete with instructions and photographs showing how to hold the flint and strike the steel!
