Colonial Era Meat Spit

This piece is based on an example of a colonial era meat spit. It is used for roasting meat over a fire at camp or in a fire place oven. Everything from chicken, hare, beef or wild game, too.

The pin is squared to keep the spiked dogs in the middle from slipping. This keeps the meat in the right position at each 1/4 turn and prevents slipping.
