This is a hand forged Irminsul (Yggdrasil) suitable for your alter and or in ritual. It is hand forged of steel in our smithy, the White Hart Forge. As they are hand forged the size can range between 7 to 9 inches tall, 1/2 inch thick and the arms spread to about 5 to 6 inches. The Old Norse form of Irmin is Jörmunr, which just like Yggr was one of the names of Odin. Yggdrasil ("Yggr's horse") was the yew or ash tree from which Odin sacrificed himself, and which connected heaven and earth. In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil (Old Norse Yggdrasill, IPA: [?y??drasil?]; the extra -l is a nominative case marker) is the World Tree, a great ash tree located at the center of the universe and joining the nine worlds of Norse cosmology. The trunk of the tree may be thought of as forming a vertical axis around which these worlds are situated, with Ásgard, realm of the gods, at the top and the Hel, located in Niflheim, at the bottom. Midgard, our world that is inhabited by humans, is located in the middle and surrounded by Jötunheim, land of Jötunn, both of which are separated by the ocean.

Viking/Saxon Scramaseax Seax w/Trad Sheath

This is a custom built hand forged viking style seax with a wood handle, steel fittings and a traditional Viking Age leather sheath. The sheath has been fastened and held fast by using hammered brass plates and copper rivets. There is no stitching involved. The blade is a solid one piece tang that is set through the handle. The guard is brass fit to match the handle at the blade and the pommel is cut from brass to match the handle and hold it all together. The woods that I try to get for the handle include oak, curly maple walnut and sometimes yew. The sheath is made of leather, folded and held together by hammered brass plates with copper rivets. It has two belt loops and is designed to hang laterally from the belt. This blade is perfect for hunting, fishing or personal safety. For reenactment, this piece is perfect for Viking or Saxon era. It will complete any outfit for men or women.

Viking Age Drinking Horn Stand with Ram's Head Frey

A one of a kind Drinking Horn Stand dedicated to the god Frey and a drinking horn. This is the only one of it's kind anywhere! There is only one! The stand has "Frey" carved in runes of the elder futhark along the spine with a hand forged ram's head at the top. The ram is a symbol of strength that is dedicated to Frey. The ram's horns help cradle the horn. The legs and rim are also decorated with hand cut Nordic designs. The rim terminals are split by hand and scrolled. Iron art Sculpture Wild Boar

This unique piece of iron sculpture was designed, forged and created by Heidi here at White Hart Forge. This fantastic Celtic Boar is made up of individually hand forged pieces one laid over the other to give a three dimensional perspective of action. Note the sharp tusks, the bristling hair and the hand forged spirals. The eyes are made from rivets of hard black steel. Also, the legs are articulated by using rivets to mount them to the body. This sculpture seems to leap out into the room! The color and patina were created by wire brushing the surface from scale, some light sanding. A light heat of around 500 degrees is applied to bring out the darker blues and violets in the polished steel. Then the piece is treated with a light bees' wax and Linseed oil mix under that same heat to provide a darkened luster. The entire piece measures almost 2 feet tall by 3 feet wide and weighs in at about 45 pounds. This is a very powerful piece of sculpture. It is for sale now directly from White Hart Forge at $2500.00

This hammer weighs approximately 13 pounds. The head is slit and drifted open in the traditional manner of the ancient smiths to form the eye for the handle. Both faces are then upset to provide a work surface and a shape reminiscent of the traditional northern European style hammers.
